The Heroes of Olympus Series (award winning series)The Son of Neptune is the second book in the Heroes of Olympus Series. Fortunately the demigod has demigod friends and protectors, one in particular is the Coach/Teacher who is leading the field trip. He shocks the class when he transforms into a Satyr (half man, half goat) to protect the demigod and other students while the other demigods fight the enemies. Book one of this series is The Lost Hero and

Mr. Hoban's books were published years before today's elementary students were born, yet his books ring true to children both then and now, especially the Frances books. Mrs. Wilson selected Bread and Jam for Frances to be read to Kindergarten through 2nd grade. What a wonderful choice of books to read! This book cleverly educates readers about the enjoyment of eating a variety of foods.
