The Year the Swallows Came Early by Kathryn FitzmauriceThis book takes place in San Juan Capistrano when the swallows do their annual migration. The children in the book learn to deal with and forgive adults who make poor decisions that affect them. The book chapters are titled by foods which relates to the culinary goals of the main character and living in Southern California. The book was enjoyable to read.
