October 8th - 11th was mystery week in the library. We had a lot of fun reading and exploring mysteries. One of the greatest mysteries in the library is who is the tape out line and what happened to them? Even if I knew, I would never tell.
We had a lot of fun displaying all of our fun mystery books in our library this week. Hopefully your student(s) came home with some fun books to read!
The books we Spotlighted this week are:
Grades K-1: The Viper by Lisa Thiesing - Peggy receives a mysterious call from the Viper warning that he is coming in one year, with repeated calls which count down the dwindling time until his arrival. Just who is the Viper and what happens when they get there?
Grades 2-3: Nate the Great and Me: The Case of the Fleeing Fang by Marjorie Weinman Sharmat - Nate the Great is asked to solve the Mystery of what happened to Annie's dog Fang. Nate the Great asks for help from the reader. We all get to work together to solve this mystery.
Grades 4-5: Chasing Vermeer by Blue Balliett - When seemingly unrelated and strange events start to happen and a precious Vermeer painting disappears, eleven-year-olds Petra and Calder combine their talents to solve an international art scandal.
